Jessica (Co-Founder, Part3):

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to join today and learn about our new feature: ProjectFiles.

If you haven’t already met me, I’m Jessica, one of the co-founders at Part3. Before starting Part3, I worked for a general contractor and several different architectural firms. I want to start with a story.

When I joined one of the larger firms I worked at, the project was already well underway. It was a big, complex development in downtown Toronto — five condo towers, with the project team split between Toronto and Vancouver.

And honestly, I had no idea what the latest drawings were. No one could point me to the current set. I didn’t know who all the consultants were or which disciplines were on the project. It felt chaotic, and I had so much catching up to do before I could actually be productive.

That experience really stuck with me. And it’s part of why we created ProjectFiles.

Why ee created ProjectFiles

Right now, architects are often sidelined in construction administration. Tools like Procore, SharePoint, and email — usually managed by the GC or the owner — end up controlling the record. This creates fragmentation, increases risk, and puts a lot of pressure on architects and prime consultants.

Our vision at Part3 is simple but powerful: we want to put architects back in the driver’s seat. With ProjectFiles, you have control of the set — a single source of truth that ties directly to how your projects are actually being built.

The second step in our vision is automation. By centralizing drawings and decisions, we’re laying the groundwork for AI to take on busywork: automatically cross-referencing submittals with the right drawing set, updating instructions and changes for you, and reducing mistakes.

One of our customers said it best: “More context equals fewer mistakes.”

ProjectFiles ties drawings to all project decisions. It’s not just more control — it’s less admin, fewer errors, and a system that works for architects, not against them.

The reality today

On many projects, drawings are scattered and it’s nearly impossible to maintain a single source of truth. That slows everything down.

How can you respond to RFIs with confidence if you don’t know which drawings are latest? How do you keep projects moving when outdated sets are floating around?

Time spent hunting for files, converting Word docs to PDFs, emailing them, and saving them to servers is wasted — and when profit margins are slim, every billable hour counts.

Since day one at Part3, we’ve heard from customers that document control — especially for drawings — is critical. That’s why we built ProjectFiles: a structured, versioned solution that automatically ties drawings to instructions, bulletins, and changes.

What ProjectFiles delivers

  • Speed: Faster document issuance and less time wasted searching or re-uploading.

  • Compliance: Clear version control reduces liability and disputes.

  • Adoption: One centralized system accessible to the entire project team — architects, consultants, GCs, and owners.

  • ROI: More efficiency and less admin time equals stronger margins.

I’ll give you a quick example. On one of my past projects, a drywall subcontractor built a 200-foot wall in the wrong location — all because they were working off an outdated drawing. The error created huge risk, extra cost, and schedule delays. With ProjectFiles, the team would have had immediate access to the current set, preventing that mistake.

How it works

ProjectFiles creates a centralized home for everything project-related — most importantly, your drawings. The entire team can access the latest set in the cloud, whether they’re in the office or on site.

  • Drawings are categorized by discipline.

  • Versions are tracked with clear timelines.

  • Uploading is simple: drag, drop, and let Part3 do the heavy lifting (sheet numbers, names, dates, and tags are auto-detected).

  • Consultants can upload their drawings too, ensuring the entire project record stays consistent.

  • When you issue an instruction or change, the set is automatically updated.

No more confusion about which file is “final” or “R1.” ProjectFiles maintains your latest set for you.

Looking ahead

This is just the beginning. ProjectFiles is live now, and we’re continuing to expand it. Next, we’ll be bringing the same versioning control to specifications. We’re also working toward AI-driven submittal and RFI reviews that use your project data to automate even more of the CA process.

The goal is clear: less admin work for architects and more time spent on the work that matters — leading projects, going on site, coordinating details, and designing.

ProjectFiles officially launches September 20th, and we’re offering early access for firms ready to adopt it. If you’d like to learn more, reach out to Jack or me, or sign up for the waitlist.

We’re so excited to share this with you. ProjectFiles is more than just organization — it’s the foundation for the future of construction administration with AI.

Thank you for joining us today.
